Would You Pay To Spend a Night Behind Bars in Minnesota?
Last I checked, no one is in a hurry to spend a night behind bars, let alone pay for the 'experience'. But one rental property in southeastern Minnesota might have you rethinking all of that.
Airbnb is offering stays in the Historic Jail Haus in Wykoff, about 30 miles south of Rochester.
The Jail Haus dates back to the late 1800’s and is actually owned by the city. As you might expect being a old jail cell, it's a bit cozy - just one bedroom and one bathroom - although in true jail cell fashion, you do have your choice of either the top or bottom bunk bed. (There is an additional queen bed, but are you really going to spend the night in a old jail cell and sleep in a queen bed?)
So far, folks who have spent the night at the Jail Haus are raving about their experiences. More than 350 reviews have been posted on the listing's site, all three-stars and above with an impressive 4.91 (out of five) rating.
So what will a night behind bars in Wykoff set you back?
A weekend stay in July starts at just $105 per night (plus taxes and fees).
That might be cheaper than bail money at an actual jail.
