The unpredictable wave of nice weather vs. snowy weather continues for southern South Dakota. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southeast South Dakota and northwest Iowa tonight (Thursday, March 6) through Friday morning.

According to Dakota News Now, the Winter Weather Advisory could dump 2 - 5 inches of snow mainly to the south of Sioux Falls.

The best chances of snow lie along the I-90 corridor and to the south. The good news is that the strong winds we've been dealing with lately should be minimal.

As always, weather - especially this time of year - can and often does change in the blink of an eye. Keep aware of the alerts and adjust travel accordingly.

The National Weather Service posts this about tonight and Friday:

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of snow, mainly after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 25. East wind 5 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday: A slight chance of snow before 9am, then a chance of flurries between 9am and noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 40. East northeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
