Snow Alert

As Sioux Falls prepares for winter - and the inevitable snowfall that comes with it - the city has launched a new snow alert text messaging system.

Do not park on any street until it has been plowed curb to curb.

The surrounding area has received 2-5 inches of snow since early Monday morning with 2.2 inches reported at the Sioux Falls Airport.

A snow alert means the City plans to plow all streets. Parking restrictions go into effect and vehicles parked on all streets are subject to ticketing and towing.

Now that the snow has arrived, Sioux Falls Police Sgt. Randy Brink says officers will be ticketing vehicles for parking on a city street during a snow alert

Parking restrictions are in effect across the city, and vehicles parked on all streets are subject to ticketing and towing by zone.

The snow keeps falling, so a snow alert has been issued to get the plows on the road and keep streets clear in Sioux Falls and area towns.
