A Sioux Falls man has been charged with aggravated assault after robbing a casino on Tuesday morning.

KSFY TV is reporting that police arrested 70-year-old Larry Lee Fletcher of Sioux Falls on Tuesday (December 31) near a hotel located on West Russell Street and Louise Avenue.

According to the report, Fletcher walked into Deuces Casino Tuesday morning around 8 and threw a cup of gasoline on the clerk on duty, then threatened to light her on fire if she failed to give him money.

Police told KSFY, the clerk gave Fletcher the money from the casino's register, and he immediately fled the scene.

According to KSFY, Fletcher was located and arrested a few hours later near the hotel.

Authorities were able to charge Fletcher with the crime thanks to the use of surveillance video from the casino. The shoes and coat Fletcher was wearing at the time of his arrest, exactly matched those of the suspect in the robbery.

In addition to aggravated assault, police also charged Fletcher with first-degree robbery in the case.
