South Dakota State Football to Open Up Against Big 12 Team in 2024
The South Dakota State football team is getting national headlines these days with their play on the field and are getting the opportunity to play some very interesting non-conference games.
In 2024, South Dakota State will open up the season on the road against Big 12 foe Oklahoma State.
For many FBS programs, their annual FCS opponent would usually be a cakewalk, but we've seen SDSU not only complete but beat FBS opponents and will get a chance to do so once again in 2024.
Here is the complete release from South Dakota State on the big-time matchup for their football program.
South Dakota State has secured another matchup against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent, agreeing to terms with Oklahoma State for a game that will kick off the 2024 season.
The game is scheduled to be played on August 31, 2024, at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. It will mark the first-ever matchup between the Jackrabbits and Cowboys.
"We are excited to face Oklahoma State in 2024," SDSU head coach John Stiegelmeier said. " Coach (Mike) Gundy has done an unbelievable job of maintaining excellence in the Cowboy football program. We will do everything we can to be ready to play our best."
SDSU now has five future dates against FBS opponents locked up, including the 2022 opener on September 3 at Iowa.
