South Dakota Among the States with the Most People Moving In
If you're new to the Rushmore State you are not alone. Lots of people are moving here as well.
A study by United Van Lines shows that South Dakota has the eighth highest percentage of people moving into the state.
The biggest reason for anyone coming to or leaving the state was a job. 52 percent of the people coming in and 72 percent said a new occupation was why they were coming or going.
Most of the people coming into the state, 63 percent, were 55 or older. Of the people leaving the state, 67 percent of them are 54 and younger.

- South Dakota
- North Carolina
- New Mexico.
The 10 states with the most people moving our are:
- New Jersey
- Illinois
- New York
- Connecticut
- Kansas
- Ohio
- California
- Michigan
- North Dakota
- Iowa
The states that were the most stable were Maine and Oklahoma. They had about the same percentage of people coming as they did going.
