Early in the week it looked like Sioux Falls may be in for a foot of snow. By Tuesday, it still looked like 6-8 inches was likely. The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has downgraded the prediction again. Now, Sioux Falls is only forecast to receive 2-4 inches.

Meteorologists say the dry air is really minimizing the impact of this system, though areas to the west and south may still get higher amounts. Both Mitchell and Canton could see 4-6 inches while Watertown may only get an inch or two.

Here in Sioux Falls, there is a slight chance of snow this afternoon while snow is likely tonight. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service has about three inches for us tonight.

We do have another chance of snow coming Sunday through Tuesday, but right now, that doesn't look like it will amount to a lot of snowfall either.
