Sioux Falls Police: Rash of Counterfeit Money at Local Businesses
Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says more local businesses have been getting fake bills from some of their customers.
"On Monday all of them were 100 dollar bills. Some bills were passed over the weekend. Some were attempted to be passed over the last couple of days."
Right now, Clemens says authorities are teaming up together to see if the cases are connected.
"There is really no common thread between any of the incidents. Our detectives will work with the secret service agents to see if they can figure out any kind of pattern or who's responsible."
Fortunately, Clemens says employees of three businesses identified the counterfeit bills. But, the suspects were gone when police arrived.
