Location Change for Sioux Falls ‘Paint the Plows’ Event
A popular Sioux Falls event showcasing the work of young artists is getting a new home in 2025.
The City of Sioux Falls is hosting its 16th annual Paint the Plow event on Saturday (October 11) in the Great Plains Zoo parking lot, on South Kiwanis Avenue.
Paint The Plows History
The program, which is hosted by the Public Works Street Division, invites local school-aged artists to decorate the City’s snowplows ahead of the winter season. Plows can be painted by groups like elementary, middle, and high school classes, after-school programs, preschools, daycares, sports teams, and nonprofits.

This year, more than 25 groups are painting a plow.
The public can cast votes for their favorites at the event on Saturday. The winning plows will be displayed in the Parade of Lights on Friday, November 28.
Why the Change?
The viewing event was previously held at the Levitt parking lot downtown, but construction from the venue's expansion project forced the location change this year.
