A first responder is recovering from minor injuries received while battling a house fire in central Sioux Falls.

KSFY reports the fire broke out to a home on North Grange Avenue near West 8th Street around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.

As crews arrived on the scene, flames were coming out of the roof of the house.  Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within ten minutes.

One occupant was out of the home before firefighters arrived.  The fire left the home a total loss and the Red Cross is assisting the resident who was displaced.

According to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, a first responder was injured during the incident, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
