Gas stations first starting popping up in America in 1905. But they look a lot different today. Over 120 years ago, you could purchase gas. That's it. Now when we walk into a gas/convenience store there are thousands of items to choose from. From coffee to hot foods with liquor and lottery, too. Some even have that sketchy jar of pickled eggs on the counter.

With these super-gas-convenience stores popping up on almost every street, let's look at South Dakota's most popular gas station.

Casey's takes the prize. According to freebets, on online gambling site, a total of 2500 people surveyed gave their home states favorite gas station. Casey's came up big in the Rushmore State.

Further study indicates that nearly all of the states that borders South Dakota also favors Casey's. Another local favorite, KwikStar is also growing at a fast pace so we'll see if these numbers hold. And Circle K is right there, too. Overall, Sioux Falls has a nice selection of gas stops. And don't forget the energy drink and a jerky.
