Pitchers and Catchers Report Soon

Things are looking up, and spring is fast approaching.

How do I know?

The Minnesota Twins say pitchers and catchers report February 12th, and first workouts will take place on the 13th.

And while I don't know other teams' report dates, just hearing the phrase "pitchers and catchers report..." is one of the surest signs of spring I've ever known.

We were fortunate enough to spend a week at Fort Myers, Florida once, thanks to the people who owned the radio station at the time. It was 15 years ago, but some of the memories of the Lee County Sports Complex and beautiful Hammond Stadium are still vivid.

When we left Sioux Falls, the temperature was 9 degrees, and when we landed at Southwest Florida International Airport a few hours later, the pilot informed us that the temperature on the ground was 82.

Sharon and I looked at each other and decided 9 for 82 was a pretty good trade.

We hope to go there again.

In the meantime, we'll enjoy the Twins on KSOO.
