Neil Young will be among the honorees during Grammy Week in late January. The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing will pay tribute to the Canadian-born legend on January 21st for his commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the art and craft of recorded music.

Calling Young someone "who has been tireless in his own efforts to draw attention to the importance of hearing music as the artists who created it intended," Recording Academy CEO Neil Portnow adds in a statement, "The efforts of the Producers & Engineers Wing continue to raise awareness about the importance of sound quality and the preservation and integrity of recorded music. The contributions of Neil Young are innumerable, as is his incomparable body of work, and we look forward to an unforgettable evening with this legendary artist."

Young will be saluted at Village Studios in West L.A. on January 21st. Previous honorees of the P&E Award include Chris Blackwell, T Bone Burnett, Tom Dowd, Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun, Jimmy Iovine, Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin, Al Schmitt and Jerry Wexler.
