The band got its start in Topeka in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for legendary publisher, producer, manager, and songwriter Don Kirshner, who signed the group to his record label, Kirshner Records.

Over the years, Kansas has released sixteen studio albums, including three straight Top Ten records (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Monolith) in the mid to late 1970's. Seven of the band's singles have landed in the Top 40, including the 'Carry On Wayward Son' (1976) and 'Dust in the Wind' (1977).

More than 50 years later, original guitarist Richard Williams and original drummer Phil Ehart are still in the band, although Ehart has been off the road recently while he recovers from a heart attack.

Tickets for the Sioux Falls show go on sale to Washington Pavilion Donors on June 24th at 10:00 AM, to Washington Pavilion Members and Subscribers on June 25th at 10:00 AM, and to the general public on June 26th at 10:00 AM.
