How much does a new stadium boost a sports franchise? Just ask the Minnesota Vikings. Forbes has released their annual 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams.

The opening of US Bank Stadium has provided a huge boost for the Minnesota Vikings in terms of fan experience and team value. Last year, Forbes had the Vikings ranked 39th overall with a franchise value of $1.59 billion. One year later and Minnesota has experienced another 38% jump (76% jump in two years).

Minnesota is now ranked tied for 30th overall (up from 39th) in all of sports. The team they are tied with? The Boston Celtics. Both franchises are now worth $2.2 billion.

They are a little ways away from reaching the top spot in the rankings. To no surprise, the Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable sports franchise again with a value of $4.2 billion. Right behind them is the New York Yankees worth $3.7 billion.
