Mellencamp’s Other Son Surrenders

The second of John Mellencamp's sons accused of felony battery turned himself in Monday morning. 19-year old Hud Mellencamp surrendered in Monroe County, Indiana. Like his 18-year old brother Speck, who surrendered on Friday, he was released on bond.

The brothers and Ty Smith, the son of Indiana University baseball coach Tracy Smith, allegedly beat up a man in Bloomington, Indiana in July, leaving him with facial fractures.

Speck claims the attack was in retaliation for an altercation earlier in the evening at a party. Hud is a trained boxer who currently attends Duke University in North Carolina and is a member of the football team there.

Papa John is not commenting on the situation.
