Kory and The Fireflies Coming to 2024 Sioux Empire Fair
One of the region's most popular bands is hitting the stage at one of this summer's biggest events.
South Dakota Rock & Rollers Hall of Fame inductees Kory and The Fireflies are opening for The Fray at the Sioux Empire Fair in August.
The show is Saturday, August 3.
The band is celebrating a milestone in 2024 - 30 years of making music and three decades of sharing the stage with the likes of Def Leppard, Sheryl Crow, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Journey, and Cheap Trick, just to name a few.
Along the way, Kory and The Fireflies have released four CDs and a pair of DVDs and had singles like 'Sometimes', 'Virginia', 'Pop Fly', 'Everyone', and 'She's Coming Back Again' play on radio stations across America.
The Fray is a four-time Grammy nominee and three-time Billboard Music Award winner.
The Denver-based band hit it big with a chart-topping album The Fray (2009), as well as two Top Ten follow-up records, Scars & Stories (2012), and Helios (2014).
They've also landed a trio of Top Ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "Over My Head (Cable Car)" (2005), "How to Save a Life" (2006), and "You Found Me" (2008).
The August 3 show is free with paid fair admission to the Sioux Empire Fair.
Gate admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages 5 and under. Pit Passes are $25 in advance per person, per event, and are on sale now on the fair's website.
The 85th Sioux Empire Fair runs from August 2-10.
