Jury Finds Joseph Patterson Guilty of Murder
A jury of nine women and three men returned their verdict just before 9 p.m. Tuesday -- guilty on all counts.
KDLT, Our News Gathering Partner, reports Joseph Patterson was found guilty of 2nd degree murder, manslaughter and aggravated battery in the death of 2-year-old Tyrese Ruffin. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was the boy's biological father.
The jury began deliberating 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The jury has heard testimony for a total of ten days from dozens of different witnesses, including police officers, medical professionals, Patterson's ex-girlfriend,and even the victim's daycare providers.
Patterson will remain in jail without the opportunity for bond. He will be sentenced for the crime at a later date.
