Following last night's severe weather, the City of Sioux Falls has opened two convenient drop-off locations where residents can dispose of fallen branches and trees at no charge.

Drop Site Locations & Hours

Two locations are now available:

  • Chambers Street Site: Near the Household Hazardous Waste Facility (1015 E. Chambers Street)
  • Lyon Boulevard Site: 200 Lyon Blvd., south of W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds near West 12th Street

Operating Schedule:

  • Now through Sunday, August 17
  • Monday-Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sundays: Noon to 5 p.m.

What's Accepted

  • Accepted: Trees and branches only
  • Not accepted: Root balls, bagged leaves

Important Guidelines

Residential Use Only: These drop sites are exclusively for Sioux Falls residents. Commercial businesses and contractors should utilize the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill or Mueller Pallets (located west of the landfill). Visit siouxfalls.gov/landfill for landfill information.

Free Annual Landfill Pass: Remember that Sioux Falls residents receive one complimentary annual landfill pass per household or commercial property for other storm debris. Check the landfill webpage for complete details.

Safety Reminders

Downed Power Lines: Always assume downed power lines are live until cleared by utility crews. Report any downed lines by calling 911 immediately.

Report Other Issues: For street blockages or storm damage, contact the police non-emergency line at 605-367-7000 or visit siouxfalls.gov/report.
