Join The Ranks Of Sioux Falls Substitute Teachers This Season
When regular teachers are absent, substitute teachers step in to keep learning on track. In Sioux Falls, they play a big role in making sure classrooms run smoothly and students don’t fall behind.
Without substitutes, schools sometimes have to combine classes or cancel lessons. This can make learning harder for students and add stress for teachers. Subs help prevent that by keeping lessons and routines going, even for just a day or two.

The Sioux Falls School District is working hard to recruit more substitutes and is in need of around 250 substitutes for the school year. They would like to have them all trained in before the start of the cold and flu season.
Substitute teaching is more than just filling in. It gives full-time teachers time to attend training or take care of personal needs. For students, a substitute can provide not only guidance but also kindness, so they feel seen and supported.
Many substitutes see the job as a way to give back to the community or explore a future career in education. While they may not always get the spotlight, substitutes are an essential part of Sioux Falls schools.
