Sioux Falls is getting well-deserved recognition for its commitment to healthy living. It recently ranked among the top 100 healthiest cities in the United States, according to Wallet Hub.
Wallet Hub compared 180 of the largest cities in the country using 4 major categories and 41 indicators of good health.
For example, their analysis looked at things like access to quality healthcare, fitness opportunities, nutritious food availability, environmental factors, and healthy lifestyle rates.
Sioux Falls scored particularly high in the healthcare area ranking 7th in the country in that category. Our city also has an awesome park system that encourages outdoor activity.
Sioux Falls' walkable neighborhoods, clean air quality, and myriad of community fitness events and clubs further bolstered its standings as one of America's healthiest cities.
Some of the other things Wallet Hub analyzed included, the cost of medical and dental visits, the quality of our hospital systems, the availability of healthy foods, the number of farmer's markets per capita, the number of fitness and instruction centers per capita, city "greenness", and physical activity.
