Drunk Sioux Falls Man Crashes Truck into Motel at Nearly 80mph
Note to self, should you ever crash a vehicle into the side of a building, don't attempt to walk away from the scene of the accident before authorities arrive.
One Sioux Falls man learned that lesson the hard way on Tuesday morning, (December 10) after crashing his truck into a motel at nearly 80mph.
Dakota News Now reports the accident occurred around 2:45 AM on the 1500 block of West Russell Street near the T-intersection with West Avenue.

Police arrested 38-year-old Nicholas Anthony Gali of Sioux Falls attempting to walk away from the crash site.
According to Dakota News Now, Gali was taken into custody and charged with DWI, vehicular battery, three counts of hit-and-run, reckless driving, not having insurance and obstruction.
The police report states that Gali's truck was heading west at a very high rate of speed when the accident occurred. The truck drove straight through the T-intersection and crashed into one of the rooms of an extended-stay motel.
Dakota News Now reports that four people inside the room at the time of the incident received minor injuries including cuts and scrapes, fortunately, none of the injuries were serious.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they found Gali impaired and attempting to flee the scene of the accident on foot. He was then taken into custody.
The truck crashed through the motel's exterior wall, causing significant damage to at least one room in the structure's lower level. The exact cost of the damages is not known at this time.
