Big Northern Lights Forecast For Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota!

It looks like we could be in for a dramatic Aurora Borealis display over Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota. Here's when you have the best chance to see the Northern Lights.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a magnetic storm watch.

This means a high-speed solar wind stream coming from the Sun may be heading towards Earth with fast-moving charged particles that can cause a big Northern Lights display.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls...“The Space Weather Prediction Center is indicating that the potential for a Geomagnetic storm has increased for Monday into Tuesday.

This means a greater chance of northern lights over North America!”

The best chance of seeing some dramatic Northern lights is from 10 pm Monday night until 5 am Tuesday morning.

It is recommended that the best way to see a Northern Lights display is to get outside the city away from all the ambient light.
