Sioux Falls Music Scene Shines At Artist Spotlight Night
The Artist Spotlight at the Icon Lounge in Sioux Falls turned into one of those nights you just don’t forget. I had the honor of being MC at the show on behalf of Kickin’ Country, and let me tell you, the local talent we have right here in South Dakota is something worth bragging about.
The lineup featured three incredible artists: Chris Reynold, Weston Frank, and Collin Donley. Each of them brought their own unique style to the stage, and the audience soaked it all in. What made the night extra special was that it wasn’t just about playing music—it was about telling the stories behind the songs.

Chris Reynolds kicked things off, sharing songs that felt honest and heartfelt. You could tell his music came from real-life experiences, the kind of stories that make you nod your head and think, “Yep, I’ve been there too.” His smooth delivery and connection with the crowd and storytelling set the tone for the evening.
Next up was Weston Frank, who’s no stranger to the stage. He blended humor and heart, giving fans not only great music but also a peek into the inspiration behind his songs. Weston has a way of making the room feel like a campfire gathering—personal, warm, and filled with laughter. Wait, mix that together with a frat house after 2:00 AM vibe and that's Weston.
Closing out the night was Collin Donley, who impressed the crowd with his mix of energy and emotion. His songwriting and right foot stomping while he played carried both grit and honesty, and hearing him explain where those songs came from added a whole new layer to the performance.
The Icon Lounge was the perfect backdrop—intimate enough for the stories to matter and lively enough for the music to shine. By the end of the night, everyone in the room left knowing that Sioux Falls has some serious musical talent worth supporting. That said, watch for when any of these three play near you. It doesn't matter if it's a bar or large venue, my guess is, you'll be impressed. I sure was.
