Ultimate Guide: Sioux Empire Fair 2024 – Concerts, Rodeo, Fun!

As usual, summer in South Dakota is flying by. We just made it through the 4th of July and the next big summer event is coming up quick.

The 85th Sioux Empire Fair is coming up in August. All of your favorite parts of fair fun will be at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls: concerts, carnival, rodeo, and FUNNEL CAKES!

When Is the 2024 Sioux Empire Fair?

The 2024 Sioux Empire Fair takes place at the W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds
(100 N Lyon Blvd, Sioux Falls, SD).

The 85th Annual Sioux Empire Fair will run from August 2 through August 10, 2024.

The Sioux Empire Fair's hours are Friday, August 2: 5pm to 12:00 AM, and 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM on August 3 through 10.

How Much is Admission to the Sioux Empire Fair?

• Adults (13 and up): $10
• Children (6 - 12): $5
• Children (5 and under): Free

An awesome part of the Sioux Empire Fair is that all with the exception of the show on August 8, the grandstand shows are all fee with your fair admission, except the Flo Rida show on August 8.

Who is Playing at the 2024 Sioux Empire Fair?

The Sioux Empire fair's grandstand concerts, on the Billion Automotive Main Stage, will feature rock, country and a little hip hop.

The concerts start with The Fiesta Latina on Friday August 2. This new event will have five artists performing stating at 5:00 PM:

• DJ Frank Fuego Fiesta
• Payasito Chapinsito
• Marquense Musical
• Bachata Pura
• Rosendo Robles

Then on Saturday August 3, hometown favorite Kory and the Fireflies will kick off the night, then the band The Frey will take the stage. Sunday evening country music star Jo Dee Messina headlines the show with up and coming country singer Ashley Wineland.

Rising country star Travis Denning will headline the show Tuesday August 6. Conner Smith will open. The next night Bixby, Oklahoma native, Corey Kent and special guest Ashely Cooke will preform. Then Thursday August 8 the grandstand line-up finishes out with rapper Flo Rida.

Rodeo action takes center stage Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9. Friday is Monsters in the Midway Bulls and Broncs. Then on Saturday there will be two chances to see the Sioux Empire Championship Rodeo at 1:30 PM and 7:00 PM.

Monday August 5 is the 2nd annual Sioux Empire Fair Mullet Mania contest sponsored by The Man Salon.

The Carnival Midway at the Sioux Empire Fair

What would fair time be without the carnival! The rides, the food, the fun. The carnival open with the fair at 5:00 PM Friday August 2.

Siouxper Passes and Wristbands are again the way to thrill on the carnival rides.

• Wristbands are $42 for unlimited carnival rides for one  person for one day - buy them at the ticket kiosk at the fairgrounds.
• Siouxper Passes are #117 each and includes fair admission, grandstand entertainment (except for August 8), and unlimited carnival rides for one person, for all nine days of the fair - (buy here only through August first).

Is There a Curfew at the Sioux Empire Fair?

Yes, there will be a 9:00 PM curfew for unaccompanied minors 17 and younger.

"In the order to maintain safety of everyone at the Sioux Empire Fair and continue to keep this a family friendly event the Sioux Empire Fair is enacting a 9pm curfew for anyone 17 and under not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Anyone 17 and under must be accompanied at all times after 9pm while on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The curfew will be enforced at the Sioux Empire Fair on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds starting August 4 until the end of the fair on August 12." - Sioux Empire Fair

Where to Park at the Sioux Empire Fair

Parking at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds is free and first come first serve.

"General public parking is available in the North Parking Lot and East Parking Lot during the Sioux Empire Fair. Both lots can be conveniently reached off of Madison Street." - Sioux Empire Fair

Remember that backpacks, pets (except approved service animals on a leash), and coolers are not allowed at the fair.
