Some South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota pets are fortunate enough to have a loving home. Others have to wait a little longer to find their happy ending.

Many animals at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society are waiting for their second chance, especially dogs. Thankfully, two amazing dogs finally found their new "fur-ever" homes.

READ MORE: FYI...Major Changes Coming To Sioux Falls Area Humane Society

Say hello to Ember and Nova. They were some of the long-time residents at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Now they will live their best lives with their new families.

Ember waited at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for 91 days, and Nova spent a total of 94 days inside the shelter.

Ember and Nova have their personalities. But one thing they shared was the hope of finding their new homes, no matter how long the wait was. By the look of these happy faces, the wait was worth every minute.

Moments like this give hope to those who work and support the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.

Congratulations to Ember and her new family, she has such a sweet smile! Lots of love and happiness on your beautiful addition to your family.

Happy to see Nova found her forever home!

Wow looks at that smile on that pup's face! I bet she's going to sleep extra good for about a week knowing it's a for real home, congratulations!

Nova, Beyond Happy For You …Looks Like Your Smiling!

More dogs like Ember and Nova are still waiting for their second chances. Check out all the adoptable Sioux Falls dogs at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society by clicking here. I know not everyone can adopt pets, but the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is always looking for volunteers. Get all the information here.

Congratulations to Ember and Nova!

From Frybread to Pheasants - Here are South Dakota's Official State Things

Every state in our nation has chosen things that represent the state in one way or another to be official state things. Like a flower, or animal. South Dakota is no different.

The Mount Rushmore has a state flower. But did you know we also have a state tree and a state fish? Yes, we even have a state code.

Here is what we have so far in Wyoming. Thanks to the South Dakota Secretary of State's Office for the info:

20 Things You'll Find In Every South Dakota Home

We have so many things in our homes. Some things are junk or half-used but others have great sentimental value to us.

Regardless of what an item means to us at the end of the day, I bet that most South Dakotans have these twenty items in their home; or at least most of us do.
