We're getting down to the wire! You only have a few more chances to try 37 burgers in this year's battle. It's a challenge but it can be done! The next burger on this on-going journey is from WoodGrain Brewing Company. Their burger entry is called the Smokehouse Brisket Cabernet Burger.

According to a previous article from my co-worker Jeff Harkness, the Smokehouse Brisket Cabernet Burger is "a cold-smoked 1/2 lb. patty made from a custom blend of brisket and chuck, covered with a Cabernet Sauvignon cheese sauce, topped with sharp cheddar, red onion, pickles, romaine lettuce, tomato, and house-made Southern Perfection Burger Sauce on a toasted brioche bun. Served with a side of house-seasoned pork rinds." WoodGrain Brewing Company partnered with the food truck called Southern Perfection BBQ. This partnership was like a match made in heaven.

This patty blend is one of my favorites in this year's Downtown Sioux Falls Burger BattleAlthough this burger is a little messy to eat, the flavors make up for the mess. The cheese sauce and the Southern Perfection Burger Sauce sealed the deal for me. On top of enjoying this delicious burger, WoodGrain Brewing Company brewed a special beverage to pair with the meal called the "Smoked Copper Ale." My fiancé, Chris approves this brew!
