In-N-Out is out as America's favorite burger chain. Harris Interactive Inc. has released the results of its 2017 Harris Poll EquiTrend rankings.

Using an academically vetted brand equity model with elements like familiarity, quality, and consideration, brands create powerful connections with consumers.

The stronger the brand, the greater the bond. The Harris Poll EquiTrend® study benchmarks how deep those bonds go and honors the highest ranked brands in each award category.

They test several categories including automotive, consumer electronics, hotels, media, restaurants, retail, and more.

One category was for Burger Restaurant Brand of the Year. In-N-Out Burger was the favorite for two years in a row.

This year, America's favorite has two locations in Sioux FallsFive Guys Burgers and Fries tops the list of America's best burger chain. In-N-Out fell to number two.

Four other burger restaurants in Sioux Falls also made the list including Wendy's at number four, Culver's Butterburger was 5th on the list, and McDonald's and SONIC America's Drive-In were 8th and 9th.

In case you're wondering, the best pizza chain (Papa John's), best sandwich shop (Subway), fast casual Mexican restaurant (Moe's Southwest Grill), and best coffee and quick serve restaurant (Starbucks) also have stores in Sioux Falls.
