The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir made a surprise appearance at Sonoma, California's Huichica Music Festival on Saturday, June 15th. The guitarist joined Jonathan Wilson for four songs during a set that included Dead favorite "Dark Star" and "Truckin'." According to the Hollywood Reporter, it was his first appearance since he collapse during a performance in Portchester, New York on April 25th.

After his initial collapse, Weir continued to play from a chair but after a brief break he did not return to the stage. According to initial reports, Weir was suffering from pain in his shoulder and may have ingested an Ambien by mistake.

Weir is scheduled to perform a solo show later this week on June 23rd at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California. He is then scheduled to open for Bob Dylan on select dates of the Americanarama tour.
