We've been talking about the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy since the 'ground-rocking' event last October through the announcement of the grand opening week festivities, so I wanted to talk to Chuck Brennan, the founder of the Academy to find out more.

Brennan is a Sioux Falls native, CEO of Dollar Loan Center, and ran one of the biggest rock clubs in Minnesota. He's an entrepreneur at heart and says he was a Boys & Girls Club kid here in town and now he's giving back to the community with the academy.

I asked Brennan where the idea and inspiration for the academy came from:

We talked about the successful 'School of Rock' franchise that has popped up in big cities across the country that is teaching kids rock band instruments. Brennan said there is one big difference between that School and our Academy. Cost.

We talked about the grand opening week festivities scheduled for the academy here in Sioux Falls March 26-30 that includes Alice Cooper, Night Ranger, Vince Neil from Motley Crue, comedian Louie Anderson, and he let us know that he just signed Robby Krieger of the Doors to the lineup! I asked Brennan how he has been able to pull together this kind of lineup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota:

Each of the week's events are going to be very exclusive, VIP shows with only 300 people in attendance, in hopes of raising $1 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sioux Falls. Brennan explains the ticket prices and what is going to be included for people that attend:

The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy is located on the loop in Sioux Falls on 11th Street and is going to be a real asset to kids and families in our city. I hope to have the opportunity to cover the grand opening week events and will have more details on the yet to be announced Friday night Legends night Brennan is still working on.
