Despite years of legal battles, Doors drummer John Densmore says he achieved closure with Ray Manzarek before his band-mate's death last month. He tells Rolling Stone, "The inner circle knew Ray had cancer for a while. Then I heard he was really sick and called him. He said thank you for the prayers and told me chemo was [expletive]. So there was a closing, thank God."

Densmore is also back in touch with Robby Krieger via email. "I said few weeks ago, 'Let's have our musical reunion for Ray. Let's play some Doors songs at the Whisky or Wiltern -- there's a lot of great musicians in L.A. that we know and love and admire the band. I'd like to break the ice that way. It should happen pretty soon.'"

We're awaiting specifics -- as are the millions of Doors fans still stunned by Ray's death on May 20th.
