A festival that will provide a spotlight on local cheeses and ice cream is coming to Strawbale Winery this Saturday, August 14 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The second annual Great Plains Cheese and Ice Cream Festival will continue to help benefit both Family Visitation Center and Camp Bring It On.

Here's a little bit more about the charities that the festival will be benefiting this year:

Although the event is only in it's second year, Strawbale Winery since it's inception 15 years ago has become a business that is 'well known for its generosity' within the community according to Dakota News Now.

Camp Bring It On is a week-long camp for kids who have either beat cancer or who are currently going through cancer treatment at Joy Ranch in Watertown.

Family Visitation Center, provides supervised visits for children who are caught between complicated family situations.

So, what festival-goers can expect at Strawbale Winery this Saturday?

The event will feature both local dairy producers and processors, along with music, games, and food.

“We have got ice cream bingo, we have got an ice cream walk, it’s all about cheese and ice cream,”  Don South, co-owner of Strawbale Winery said. but wait we have: Live music for grown-ups to sit back and relax, games and play areas for the kids with lots of games, washable tattoos, kid friendly food vendors, grown up and kids raffle packages, fire trucks, tractors, farm animals and more! And of course beverages for all ages"- Dakota News Now.

Tickets for the Cheese & Ice Cream Festival can be either purchased before the event at Strawbale Winery for $8 per adult and $2 per child 12 and under for presale prices.

Or on the day of the event at $10 per adult and $2 per child 12 and under.
