2015 Sioux Falls RibFest Line-Up Announced: Cheap Trick, Warrant, Firehouse Headline
You know summer can't be too far off with the release of the lineup for RibFest. The 18th annual event is back at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds for the second straight year, May 28-31, 2015.
Headlining this year's event is Friday's appearance from Cheap Trick. The quartet, formed more than 40 years ago in Rockford, Illinois, 16 studio albums and a host of Top 40 hits later, the band has been recognized by VH1 as one of the Top 25 rock groups of all-time.
Thursday, May 28, it's back-to-back big names from the hairband era, with Warrant and Firehouse. Warrant formed in Hollywood in 1984, and by the late 80's and into the early 90's, was a mainstay in the Top Ten with hits like "Heaven" and "Cherry Pie". Firehouse's roots can be traced back to Charlotte, North Carolina in the late 1980's. The band is best known for two monster ballads, "Love of a Lifetime" and "When I Look Into Your Eyes".
Tickets are on sale now. Thursday night you pay just or just $5 for general admission, Friday it’s for $15 general admission. VIP tickets are $50 for each night.
I had Rick Huffman from SMG in the studio to talk about this year's event:
Other acts include Uncle Kracker and Montgomery Gentry, Saturday, May 30, and a free kids day, Sunday, May 31.
All eight of the national award-winning rib vendors from last year are returning and will vie for the coveted People’s Choice and Critic’s Choice awards for cash prizes and trophies.
