Bad Year for Target

Target can't seem to catch a break lately. The retail giant just had to deal with a huge data breach that compromised 40-million customer's credit and debit card information, and now many gift cards it sold over the holidays won't work.

Sources report that the wrong codes were scanned on 40-thousand gift cards, meaning they were not activated properly and hold no value.

A Target spokesperson says the number of gift cards affected is less than one-percent of the total amount of gift cards sold over the holidays, and that the cards will be honored. If you think you have a card that has not been activated properly you should bring it to the guest service desk of your local Target or call 1-800-544-2943 for assistance.
