
A Tornado Near Watertown, South Dakota…in February?
Nothing surprises me when it comes to the weather anymore.
It's late February and a storm chaser caught the beginning of a tornado forming near Watertown, South Dakota. The air temperature at the time was about 40 degrees (F) when Alex Resel caught it on camera.

The comments that followed the post were all saying the same thing: it looked like something might come from unusual skies.
Another commented that it "looked a little spinny up there." It was reported to be about 5 miles east of Castlewood.
The National Weather Service in Aberdeen on social media called for landspouts and winds up to 40mph on a Monday afternoon.
Remember, mere days ago South Dakota was dealing with -30 temperatures and cursing a polar vortex. This is 2025, huh?
