A legendary Omaha band is coming to Sioux Falls in July.

311 will play The District on July 6, 2020, as part of their 30th Anniversary 50 Dates in 50 States tour.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 13 at eTix.com.

311 is one of the few bands still touring that still has all of the members of its original lineup. Formed in 1990 in Omaha, they had roots in metal, rap, reggae, and was one of the most unique sounding bands in the last great rock decade.

311 sold over 9 million copies in the U.S. Ten albums reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 Sales Chart - and nine of their singles have reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Alternative Radio Chart (including three #1 singles Down, Love Song & Don't Tread On Me - along with Amber, All Mixed Up, Come Original, Creatures For Awhile, Hey You and Sunset in July).

I first saw 311 at the Sioux City Auditorium on May 14, 1996, just as they were exploding nationally. That fall, "Down" would hit #1 on the Billboard Alternative Chart and the self-titled album it came from peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200. My favorite album of theirs, however, is Music. It wasn't the commercial success of anything else they released after blowing up, but I wore that CD out. "Feels So Good" always got me jacked up during workouts with the line "In your face" and a heavy power chord riff that accompanied it. Combine that with the tripping-balls-reggae vibe of much of the rest of their music was just great to listen to as an angsty Gen-X teen.
