2024 Iowa–Nebraska Football Matchup Heading to Prime Time
When the Iowa Hawkeyes and Nebraska Cornhuskers kick off the 2024 Heroes Game in November, they'll be doing it under the lights for the first time in the Big Ten era of the rivalry.
The conference is moving the traditional Black Friday matchup to a prime-time start at 6:30 PM. The game is November 29 at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
The 14th Big Ten meeting between these two programs will be broadcast to a nationwide audience on NBC.
The first 13 Hawkeye-Husker games kicked off either in the late morning or early afternoon.
The border battle dates back to 1891 when Nebraska beat Iowa 22-0 in a game played in Omaha. Overall, the Huskers lead the series 30-21-3.
There have been a number of lengthy interruptions in the meetings over the years. The teams didn't play each other between 1920-1929, 1947-1978, 1983-1998, and from 2001-2010.
All of that changed in 2011 when Nebraska joined Iowa in the Big Ten.
Since then, the Hawkeyes have won nine of the 13 meetings, including nine of the last 11.
Iowa won last year's Heroes Game, 13–10, in Lincoln.
