Lindsey Buckingham talked openly about his 1987 split from Fleetwood Mac. Following the release of the band's comeback album, Tango In The Night, Buckingham backed out of touring with the band, and officially stayed away from Fleetwood Mac until their 1997 The Dance reunion special and CD.
Stevie Nicks says she called Mick Fleetwood out for accusing her earlier this year of putting her solo work ahead of Fleetwood Mac. Back in March, Fleetwood told Playboy, "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do. We have rehearsed and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his. I've always been supportive of my bandmates doing solo albums, so long as we kept our band together. . . I played drums on most of Stevie's album, the one she is still out there supporting and the one that is the reason that, for now, she refuses to do a Fleetwood Mac tour. It comes down to her."
Christine McVie came briefly out of retirement to talk about her work on Fleetwood Mac's classic 1977 Rumours album. McVie, who quit the band in 1998, told Mojo that when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band in late-1974, she immediately knew she had to step up her game.
Stevie Nicks is hoping that her 2011 team-up with Lindsey Buckingham from her solo album In Your Dreams will find a home in Fleetwood Mac's upcoming show.
Graham Parker and the Rumour played the Roxy in Los Angeles for the first time in 30 years on Wednesday night (Dec. 12), headlining a three-act 'This is 40' soundtrack release party. After shorter sets by Ryan Adams and Lindsey Buckingham, Parker's band began a 22-song set that included songs from 'Howlin' Wind (1976)' through 'Three Chords Good' (2012).
After Fleetwood Mac decided not to tour in 2012, Lindsey Buckingham packed his bags and hit the road with just his tour manager, a roadie and sound engineer -- and the result is his new album, One Man Show. He says, "It just turned out to be a really satisfying thing for me... I'm really quite proud of it."
