20 years after first crossing paths, one of music's most unlikely duos is heading back out on the road in 2024 and they're including stops in Minnesota and Iowa along the way.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss are embarking on their 28-day Can't Let Go Tour, which will play in Prior Lake and Des Moines.

The pair first met in 2004 at a Lead Belly tribute show in Cleveland where they were both performing and released their first album together three years later.

That album, Raising Sand (2007), debuted at number two on the Billboard Chart and won five Grammy Awards, including Album and Record of the Year.

It would be 14 years before they'd put out another album, 2021's chart-topping Raise the Roof.

Plant, a native of  Staffordshire, England, fronted Led Zeppelin from 1968 to 1980 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Led Zeppelin in 1995.

After the group disbanded following the 1980 death of drummer John Bonham, Plant released 11 studio albums, including five with his side groups Strange Sensation, Band of Joy, and Sensational Space Shifters.

In 1984, he teamed with his former Led Zeppelin bandmate Jimmy Page and fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Jeff Beck and Nile Rogers to form The Honeydrippers. The group released one album, The Honeydrippers: Volume One.

Krauss, an Illinois native, has been performing on stage since she was eight years old, competing in local contests before entering the recording studio for the first time at age 14.

She released her first solo album, Too Late to Cry, in 1987 and has issued three solo albums since.

In 1989, she joined the band Union Station and has released six studio albums with them.

Krauss has won 27 Grammy Awards in her career, which is second only to Beyonce (28).

The Minnesota show with Plant and Krauss is Friday June 7 at Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Prior Lake.

The Iowa show is Tuesday, June 11 at Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park in Des Moines.
