The two PetSmart locations in Sioux Falls are stepping up to help out all our fury, four- legged friends in Texas that were displaced during the recent Hurricane Harvey tragedy.

The hurricane that continues to torture parts of Texas in and around the Houston area has left so many people without a home, which in-turn has resulted in a countless number of pets being left behind or in some cases lost.

KDLT News is reporting that PetSmart is doing their part in helping care for the pets in Texas until they are able to be reunited with their owners.

Donations are now being accepted to help out all the displaced animals impacted by Harvey at both Sioux Falls PetSmart locations. The money raised will be used to help buy things like food, and cages, while the animals wait to be reunited with their pet parents.

According to KDLT News, the companies ‘PetSmart Charities’ program will be responsible for managing all the in store donations received.

Louise Avenue PetSmart Store Leader Scott Brennan, told KDLT News, “We believe that pets make us better people. So we look for every opportunity to help our pet parents and our pets have better lives. So what we have already done is PetSmart overall, we have donated a million dollars already to the relief efforts on the ground in Houston."

The two Sioux Falls PetSmart stores have set their sights on raising around 10 thousand dollars in Hurricane Harvey relief funds for pets. Learn more on how you can help here.
