There are a number of different ways you can help all the hurricane victims in the country at the moment, which speaks volumes about the generosity, and caring nature of the people of this great nation.

Hurricane relief telethons and various donation drives like the one we're doing at Results Radio seem to be popping up just about every day.

Even a group of Girl Scouts here in the Sioux Empire are getting into the action.

KDLT News is reporting the Dakota Horizons Girl Scout troop 46706 is hosting a bake sale event to help the children impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

The bake sale is scheduled to run from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the next two weekends at the Empire Mall.

The Girl Scout troop has baked up a number of cookies, brownies and other treats thanks to donations they received from Hy-Vee stores and the Apple Orchard here in Sioux Falls.

Their goal is to raise money for the kids affected by Harvey, and also help collect need items like; underwear, socks, books, and toys.

Melanie Stowe, with Dakota Horizons Girls Scouts told KDLT News, “It’s good to give back to the community, that’s the best thing about it and they’re actually learning a bit about hurricanes at the same time. They’re also going to get a merit badge out of this as well.”

According to the KDLT News report, members of the troop plan to head to Texas to deliver the items to an area church during the first weekend in October.
