It's easily the biggest lineup in RibFest history, but it didn't come together overnight. Chuck Brennan, CEO of the Dollar Loan Center was approached last fall by the Sioux Falls Arena to get involved with helping out bring in some top notch entertainment for the 17th annual event coming up May 29-June 1. Brennan got his start as a bar owner and band manager here in Sioux Falls and is the founder of the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy here in Sioux Falls (and proceeds from this years RibFest benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Academy!), so booking bands for events is in his blood. What he did was book the best lineup in the festival's history.

Eleven national bands will be in Sioux Falls this month including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rick Springfield, Loverboy, April Wine, Dee Snider, Tom Keifer, Foghat and more and Sioux Falls has definitely responded by snapping up thousands of pre-sale tickets for an event that literally has been 99% walk up ticket sales in the past.

It's also the first year camping was made available and the spots that were apportioned for the event were sold out in just a couple of hours. At last check, WH Lyon Fairgrounds Manager Scott Wick said you could still call to get your name on a list for camping and if they are able to open a third camping area on the grounds, they will call through the waiting list.

Crash talked to Brennan this week about all things RibFest from the entertainment, the local and regional bands that are being added, where the stage is going to be set up (not in the grandstand!!) and the last time ANYONE was able to go to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert for $20 (maybe 1979?)
