ZZ Top Wants Affordable Tickets

ZZ Top is on the road through the end of the year, and like recent tour-mate Kid Rock, they want to keep their shows affordable to fans. Rock has been charging a very generous $20 per ticket for the show and we asked ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons if the fan-pleasing old school ticket price has inspired the band to charge less, too: "Oh, without a doubt. I think that the time has come. . . If you really wanna share the experience, let's make it affordable and appealing for a great night out."

It's been 30 years after ZZ Top's mega-platinum Eliminator album, which featured such instant band classics as "Gimme All Your Lovin'," "Sharp Dressed Man," and "Legs." We asked Gibbons how the band was able to embrace the '80s while staying true to themselves musically: "Yeah, well as the old saying goes: 'One foot in the blues.' It keeps it honest and kinda straight ahead. We can narrow the range -- take it far left, far right; let's go back to step one -- the blues."
