You Could Learn to Speak Lakota
Learning another language can be good for the brain. Research shows that it can boost mental agility and improve cognitive skills. Plus it's always fun to learn a new skill to show off. Now you can learn a something new and connect to South Dakota's historical heritage.
The Downtown Library in Sioux Falls is hosting a free Lakota language class. It'll be taught by Tim Easter who teaches Lakota language and culture at Washington High School.
The four-part series will meet monthly on Sunday afternoons at the library. Anyone is welcome, but registration is required at: siouxlandlib.org.
Here's the class schedule:
- Sunday, October 8, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, November 12, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, December 10, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, January 14, 2 to 3 p.m.
