Word-of-mouth has always been the most effective form of advertising. It happens when real people share their experiences about products and services with other real people, who use those endorsements to influence their decisions on where to do business.

The Sioux Falls Development Foundation is hoping to tap into some of that word-of-mouth magic with a new project to try and get more people to live and work in South Dakota's largest city.

It's called Wish You Were Here.

Between now and December 31, you have a chance to register to win a $1,000 Downtown Sioux Falls gift card, with the hope that the winner will use it to invite out-of-town friends to visit, stay, and enjoy all that the city has to offer.

You can double your odds of winning by sharing the form with someone you’d want to move to Sioux Falls.

The campaign is also utilizing several videos depicting the types of people who'd be likely to move back to be closer to family, to be part of Sioux Falls' strong, business-friendly community, or for the friendly community in general.

The Foundation has also distributed hundreds of Wish You Were Here postcards for residents to send to their out-of-town friends.

13 Times Sioux Falls Made it into a 'Jeopardy!' Question

If the world was divided into Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune people, I would be down for Jeopardy! all the way. It's a lot more fun, it makes me feel smart because I can retain lots of trivia, and I am a horrible speller. So Wheel is out, no whammies.

Recently I discovered (I mean wasted a lot of time on) a website that is an archive of clues that have been on Jeopardy!.

While digging around the archive, I wanted to find out how often Sioux Falls came up in a question (Answer) on the show. Since 1990 Sioux Falls has been part of a question or an answer 13 times.
