My wife and daughter were wanting to find a new snack to make. They started cruising the Internet for a recipe that peanut butter, something both my wife and daughter love. They landed on a remix of the old favorite with a big twist.

I had helped my daughter with make puppy chow a few months ago. It was really simple to make and of course delicious. It's a solid choice. But the recipe they found used a very different primary ingredient, Cap'n Crunch.

Here's the recipe:

4.5 cups Peanut Butter Captain Crunch
4.5 cups Captain Crunch, regular
½ cup peanut butter chips
½ cup milk chocolate chips
4 Tbsp butter
½ cup peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
½ cup peanut butter chips

All you do is melt down the peanut butter chips, chocolate chips, and butter in a pan or microwave on half power until the chips and butter are all one mix. Then stir in the peanut butter.

Get a large bowl, preferably with a lid, and mix the cereal up in the bowl with the mixture and stir gently until you get a coating on the cereal. Once that is all stirred up you add the powdered sugar and shake it up in the bowl with the lid on it. If you don't have a large bowl with a lid you could use a large plastic bag.

I'm not sure why, but the second time my wife and daughter made it it was a much softer mix like it stayed a little bit gooey. It was amazing!
