Winter Weather Advisory on Thanksgiving Day
Mother Nature is proving she has a few more icy tricks up her sleeve this week for holiday travelers.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for noon on Thanksgiving to noon on Black Friday. They are forecasting a mixed bag of precipitation which includes both snow and ice. The accumulation of ice may exceed 1/10 of an inch and pose a hazard for road travel.
The area impacted will be southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, and northwest Iowa.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Turkeys can wait. Football can wait. Thursday will not be a day to speed on the roads and Friday morning will not be a great day to race to a doorbuster sale if the roads are a sheet of ice.
