Names.org is out with their projections for the Most Popular Baby Names in Minnesota in 2023 based on Social Security Administration data on births and user interest on its website.

In the North Star State, there's a holdover and a newbie at the top.

Let's start with the guys first, where there's a new projected number one with Henry pushing Oliver out of the top spot.

Owen, James, and Noah are each up one.

William saw the biggest drop from seventh to ninth.

As for the girls, Charlotte and Olivia continue to rule the roost at the top, while Amelia and Eleanor are each the biggest movers, up three spots.

Evelyn saw the biggest drop, from third to sixth.

Using March 2019 data from the Social Security Administration, Stacker compiled a list of the most popular names in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C., according to their 2018 SSA rankings. The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name. Historically common names like Michael only made the top five in three states, while the less common name Harper ranks in the top five for 22 states.
