Second year Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder didn't seem fazed by San Francisco's top ranked defense. In fact, Ponder took a giant step forward in his development as an NFL QB as the Vikings stunned the 49ers 24-13 Sunday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

Ponder threw two TD's to tight end Kyle Rudoplph and ran for another score (pictured). After San Francisco dominated two top NFC North teams in Green Bay and Detroit during the first two weeks of the season, no one would have believed that it would be Minnesota that would hand them their first loss of the season.

The Vikings pushed their record to 2-1 on the young season and travel to Detroit next Sunday to face a Lions team still licking their wounds as they lost a 44-41 score fest in overtime to Tennessee.

So now the question is, are the Vikings better than we predicted and a legitimate threat in the North? And are the 49ers not as good as advertised as they're piloted by the career under-performing Alex Smith. Let the water cooler debate begin!
