University of Minnesota Does Not Want ‘Redskins’ Name Used. Good Idea?
The University of Minnesota’s president says the school is working with the Minnesota Vikings to keep the Washington Redskins name from being used at the university’s stadium.
In a letter to Minnesota U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, university President Eric Kaler calls the Redskins name offensive and says he’ll work with the Vikings to eliminate the use of the team name on game day. It’s not clear to what extent the Vikings are participating in the effort. - Associated Press
